ABOUT US

We are Rosa Wallace and Shane Cooley, a pair of southern singer/songwriters who have decided to throw in together. We met on a sunny summer afternoon in a bungalow nestled in the Northern Neck of VA, and it didn't take us long to realize that our only choice was to write and tour together. With a deluge of new co-written musical creations streaming from our guitars, we are almost road ready! This year's accomplishments include a 45-day/49 show US tour for Shane and a tour of the southern US (Miami to Phoenix, baby!) for Rosa.

ABOUT THE TOUR

We've put together our very first Heart on a Suitcase Tour! Spanning from Musikfest in Pennsylvania to the Lowell Folk Festival in Massachusetts and beyond, the Heart on a Suitcase Tour will be a 2.5 week odyssey across the northeast and New England, bringing our solo material together in new ways and introducing some fresh new songs to the people that matter the most: our fans. We would love to continue the Heart on a Suitcase tour in more locations and on a semiannual basis, but we have to make this one happen first!

THE CONCEPT

Created by The Melillo Brothers, the Home Sweet Home Tour, the first of which happened in July 2010, is a way for independent artists to pool their connections and grow their fan bases with the simple concept of teamwork. After establishing a tour route that travels through each artist's home town, those artists then book a few shows in their area. Once those shows are booked, it becomes much easier to book the cities in between. This takes the concept of "gig swapping" to the next level, as the artists tour together along the routes they have booked. Touring through the home towns of local artists ensures a crowd at almost every show which means that artists who wouldn't otherwise have a draw in that city are able to play for more people and sell more merchandise.

The Home Sweet Home Acoustic Tour 2010 toured from New York to The Hard Rock Cafe' in Nashville and back in 17 days...17 shows. The tour was essentially cost-free, with the help of sponsorship and online donations.
The tour was a huge success, and every artist benefitted. Not only did the four acts (3 of which were solo artists) get along famously, but combos and bands were born as they started to collaborate. There are already plans in the works for a second Home Sweet Home Tour, as well the hope to share the story of entrepreneurship and innovative ideas with fellow artists and students of music and business in US colleges.

The Home Sweet Home Coast to Coast Tour 2011 played 49 shows in 45 days which included 3 music conferences with HSH panel discussions about their tour concept & showcase performances. Besides an amazing, amusing and awesome road trip, highlights include performances at the Sedona Film Festival and placing 1st & 2nd in the SXSW Open Mic contest sponsored by bandromeda.
